Big Owl in My Backyard

So this happened 2 weekends ago. I went out back into my yard and almost stepped into this huge pile of bird crap on the ground. It was right under a large fir tree in the yard. Lo and behold, a Great Horned Owl was perched just above my head. It was amazing! I rushed back into the house and grabbed my 400mm. It was looking at me the whole time but didn’t leave. I must’ve spent an hour taking pics – haha! It ended up staying for about 7 hours or so, leaving a few more splotches to clean, as well as, a huge owl pellet about the size of snickers bar. This story just gets better because by the time dusk was approaching, it’s mate showed up in another tree and they were hooting back and forth. It was an amazing experience and made my day!
